Overview of the Evening Study
We had a wonderful evening of studying the Bible on November 20, 2024. Our focus text was James 4:1-8, and we were guided by the teachings of Pastors Bill Welsh & Dave Downs as a part of the Refuge Wednesday Evening Study series.
Musical Worship
Our musical worship was a beautiful experience, with songs used with permission from various artists like Elevation Worship, Hillsong UNITED, Phil Wickham, and others. The selection of songs included powerful lyrics and music credits by talented artists and songwriters, emphasizing worship and praising God through music.
Upcoming Church Events
Exciting events were announced for our church community, including a Thanksgiving Eve service, Christmas tree lighting, a women’s brunch, and a Christmas choir concert. We also had the opportunity to sign up for a frozen turkey for those in need and were reminded of the upcoming children’s Christmas play on December 11th.
Church Community Engagement
The church community has a strong focus on worship, gratitude, and community engagement. We are looking forward to the Children’s Christmas play at Right Here Church and a tour of Refuge place for those who are interested in getting more involved.

We delved into details about the church ministries and learned about how it got its name. Our church has a clear vision, and there are ample opportunities to serve the Lord in various capacities.
Special Events and Missionaries
A special event called ‘The King has Come’ is scheduled for December 24, 2024, and we are all invited to celebrate the arrival of our true King, Jesus. We met the Bonos family from Japan, missionaries who shared their work and experiences with us. We engaged in prayers for the Japanese people, their ministry, Joy’s health, and the overall peace in the region.
Focus on Spiritual Warfare Series
We were introduced to an upcoming series on spiritual warfare, highlighting the importance of submitting to God and resisting the devil. We committed to pray for the congregation and their unique ministries, recognizing the power of God working through believers for His divine purposes. We were encouraged to resist the enemy and stand firm in the power of God’s might.
Call to Action
As a community, we were called to submit to God, resist the devil, and remember the power of Christ within us. We prayed for the strength to continue walking in faith, love, humility, and submission to God’s plan and power.
This evening was a rich time of learning, worship, and fellowship, setting the tone for a season of gratitude, engagement, and spiritual growth within our church community. We look forward to the upcoming events and series, as we deepen our faith and connection with God and one another.
