Throughout the service, Pastor Bill will also touch on various topics such as the scourge of human trafficking, the importance of growth and transformation in evangelism, and the power of unity in the church. The worship session will be filled with uplifting songs and music, and there will be announcements about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved in the ministry. So, grab a seat and get ready for an inspiring and thought-provoking service. Let’s dive into the Word and discover “The Way Forward Through Conflict.”
I. Worship Session
Singing and Music
The worship session at our church is always a highlight of the week. It’s a time for us to come together as a community and lift our voices in praise to God. The talented musicians and singers lead us in songs that are both uplifting and meaningful. We sing a mix of contemporary worship songs and timeless hymns, allowing everyone to engage in worship in a way that resonates with them.
The music creates an atmosphere of reverence and joy, drawing us closer to God and preparing our hearts for the message that will be shared later in the service. Whether it’s a powerful anthem or a quiet worship ballad, the songs chosen for each service are intentionally selected to lead us into a deeper encounter with God.
II. Announcements
Joining the Usher team
If you have a heart for serving others and a desire to make people feel welcome at our church, joining the Usher team might be the perfect opportunity for you. Ushers play a vital role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors. They greet people as they arrive, help them find a seat, and assist with any special needs or concerns.
Being an usher is more than just handing out bulletins and showing people to their seats; it’s about extending a genuine sense of care and hospitality to each individual. As an usher, you have the opportunity to be the first point of contact for newcomers and regular attendees alike, making a positive and lasting impression on their church experience.
Baptism
Baptism is an important step in the journey of faith for many believers. It symbolizes our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our commitment to follow Him. If you have recently made the decision to follow Jesus or are considering taking this step, we invite you to participate in our upcoming baptism service.
Baptism is a public declaration of your faith and a powerful moment of celebration and affirmation from the church community. It is a tangible way to express your commitment to Christ and your desire to live a life that honors Him. If you are interested in being baptized, please reach out to our pastoral team for more information and to sign up.

IV. The Horrific Scourge
Feeling helpless and heartbroken
It is with heavy hearts that we address the issue of human trafficking, a horrific scourge that continues to plague our world. The reality of this form of modern-day slavery is deeply disturbing, and it is understandable to feel helpless and heartbroken in the face of such evil.
Human trafficking involves the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable individuals, robbing them of their basic human rights and dignity. The victims are often women and children who are coerced, deceived, or kidnapped for the purposes of forced labor, sexual exploitation, or organ trafficking.
Ways to help: praying, spreading awareness, supporting ministries
While it may seem overwhelming, there are ways we can make a difference in the fight against human trafficking. First and foremost, we can pray for the victims, for their rescue, restoration, and healing. Prayer is a powerful tool, and God hears the cries of those who suffer.
Another way to help is by spreading awareness. By educating ourselves and others about the realities of human trafficking, we can shed light on this dark issue and motivate others to join the fight. We can engage in conversations, share resources, and support organizations that are actively working to combat human trafficking.
Supporting ministries that are directly involved in rescuing and rehabilitating victims is another tangible way to make a difference. These organizations provide safe havens, counseling, vocational training, and other essential services to help survivors rebuild their lives. By donating our time, resources, or financial contributions, we contribute to their important work of rescue and restoration.
V. Ministry in Orange County
Working to rescue kids from human trafficking
Right here in Orange County, our church is partnering with local organizations to combat human trafficking and provide support to victims. We believe that every life is valuable and that no child should be trapped in the darkness of exploitation. Through our ministry efforts, we are working to rescue and restore the lives of these vulnerable children.
Our ministry team collaborates with law enforcement, social services, and other community organizations to identify and rescue victims. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where these children can find healing and hope. Our dedicated team offers counseling, education, and vocational training to empower survivors to build a brighter future.
We also work tirelessly to raise awareness about human trafficking within our community. Through educational programs, seminars, and outreach events, we strive to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to identify and report instances of trafficking. By coming together as a community, we can make a significant impact in the lives of these precious children.
VI. Event at Common Ground Cafe
Packs for people on the street assembly
Common Ground Cafe, a local outreach ministry, will be hosting an event where we can come together to assemble packs for people experiencing homelessness. These packs contain essential items such as toiletries, non-perishable food items, socks, and water bottles. By providing these simple necessities, we aim to offer comfort and support to those facing difficult circumstances.
The assembly of these packs is not only a practical act of service but also an opportunity to connect with others who share a desire to make a difference. It is a time of unity and compassion as we work side by side, knowing that every pack we assemble will potentially bring relief and hope to someone in need.
Facial wipes and stickers needed
To make this event a success, we are asking for donations of facial wipes and stickers. Facial wipes are a practical and convenient hygiene item that can provide a refreshing and cleansing experience for those without access to regular shower facilities. Stickers, on the other hand, serve as a simple way to bring joy and laughter to someone’s day. They may seem small, but they have the power to bring a smile to someone’s face.
If you would like to contribute to this cause, please bring facial wipes and stickers to the designated drop-off location in the church lobby. Your donations will directly impact the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.
Get involved by speaking to Lydell and Captain Larry
If you feel a tug on your heart to get involved in outreach ministry or have any questions about the upcoming event, we encourage you to speak to Lydell or Captain Larry. They are passionate about serving others and can provide you with more information on how to join the effort to make a difference in the lives of those facing homelessness.
VII. Retreat Experience
Impacted and changed lives
Our recent retreat was a truly transformative experience for all who attended. Over the course of the weekend, we witnessed lives being impacted and changed as individuals encountered God in a fresh and powerful way. It was a time of deepening our relationship with Him and finding renewed purpose and passion for our journey of faith.
The retreat provided a space for attendees to step away from the busyness of everyday life and focus on their spiritual growth. Through engaging worship sessions, inspiring teachings, and intentional times of reflection and prayer, we were able to draw nearer to God and gain a clearer understanding of His plans for our lives.
Kids coming to Jesus Christ
One of the most remarkable aspects of the retreat was seeing children come to Jesus Christ. There was an undeniable sense of the Holy Spirit at work, drawing the hearts of young ones to respond to the love and grace of Jesus. As parents, it was a joyous and humbling experience to witness our children taking their first steps in their own faith journeys.
The children’s program was thoughtfully designed to create a safe and engaging environment for our kids to encounter God. Through age-appropriate teachings, fun activities, and heartfelt worship, the kids were able to connect with Jesus in a way that resonated with their young hearts. It was a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and His desire to have a personal relationship with each one of us, regardless of our age.
Fun incident of sketching a picture of the speaker
One lighthearted incident that brought laughter and joy to the retreat was when one of the attendees spontaneously sketched a picture of the retreat speaker during a breakout session. The speaker, unaware of the impromptu artistic endeavor, discovered the artwork upon its completion and was genuinely moved by the thoughtful gesture.
The sketch captured the essence of the speaker’s message and spirit, and it became a symbol of the deep connection and impact that occurred throughout the retreat. It served as a reminder that God can work through unexpected ways to speak to our hearts and bring joy to our journeys of faith.
VIII. Prayer Request for Camp Shiloh
Requesting prayers for Camp Shiloh in Idaho
We want to lift up a specific prayer request for Camp Shiloh, a Christian summer camp located in Idaho. This camp has been a place of transformation and spiritual growth for countless individuals, especially young people, over the years. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the camp is facing financial difficulties that may result in its closure.
We believe in the power of prayer, and we know that God is able to move mountains and provide in miraculous ways. We ask that you join us in praying for Camp Shiloh, that the necessary funds and resources would be supplied to keep this vital ministry alive. Pray also for the camp’s staff and volunteers, that they would be encouraged and strengthened during this challenging season.
IX. Sermon: The Way Forward Through Conflict
Starting in Acts 15:36
In this week’s sermon, our pastor delved into the topic of conflict and its implications for the body of Christ. Drawing from the narrative in Acts 15:36, where Paul suggests visiting the brethren in the cities where they had preached the word of the Lord, the sermon explored the challenges and opportunities that arise when conflicts arise within the Church.
Disagreement over taking John Mark
The sermon highlighted a specific disagreement that occurred between Paul and Barnabas during their missionary journeys. The conflict centered around whether or not to take John Mark, who had previously deserted them, on their upcoming trip. Paul was against bringing John Mark, while Barnabas insisted on giving him another chance.
The disagreement escalated to the point where Paul and Barnabas decided to part ways and pursue separate missionary endeavors. This dark moment in their relationship as Christian leaders served as a powerful example of how conflicts can arise even among those who are united in Christ.
Remark about evangelism by Tom Stipe
Tom Stipe, a renowned evangelist and guest speaker at our church, delivered a profound remark during his visit. He emphasized the importance of keeping the main thing, the main thing – that is, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the midst of conflicts and disagreements, it is crucial to remember that our ultimate mission is to share the good news and love of Jesus with a world that desperately needs Him.
Speaker’s personal experience with sisters getting saved
The sermon took an intimate turn as the speaker shared a personal experience they had with their own sisters. They recounted how their sisters, who were initially resistant to the Gospel, eventually encountered Jesus and experienced a life-transforming salvation. This testimony served as a powerful reminder that God can work miracles even in the most seemingly hopeless situations.
Story of Barnabas and John Mark
Returning to the story of Barnabas and John Mark, the speaker highlighted the incredible grace and restoration that occurred in their relationship. Despite their disagreement, Barnabas did not give up on John Mark. Instead, he embraced his fellow brother in Christ and continued to invest in his growth and development.
This act of love and forgiveness resulted in John Mark’s eventual restoration and impact in the early Church. It stands as a testament to the power of grace and the redemptive work that can take place when conflicts are handled with love, compassion, and a commitment to restoration.
Evangelism contest and focus on growth
The sermon shifted gears as the speaker introduced an evangelism contest that would take place within the congregation. The purpose of this contest was not to promote competition or discord, but rather to encourage individual and collective growth in sharing the Gospel.
Importance of growth and transformation
The speaker emphasized the importance of growth and transformation in the life of a believer. Just as Barnabas invested in John Mark’s growth, it is our responsibility as Christians to help others grow in their faith. This growth not only impacts individuals but also the Church as a whole as we collectively strive to fulfill the Great Commission.
Paul and Barnabas’ intense disagreement
Returning to the intense disagreement between Paul and Barnabas, the sermon highlighted the unfortunate outcome of their split. While both continued to serve God in their separate endeavors, the division itself was seen as a victory for Satan, who seeks to sow discord and hinder the work of Christ.
Their split as a victory for Satan
This cautionary tale served as a stark reminder of the destructive nature of division within the Church. It highlighted the need for believers to be vigilant and united, especially in times of crisis and uncertainty.
Effects of the split on the Church
The sermon drew parallels between the division experienced by the early Church and the division that has occurred within the Church during the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenges and disagreements caused by differing views on how to navigate the crisis have strained relationships and tested Christian unity. However, the speaker emphasized the importance of showing grace and extending love to one another, even in the midst of disagreements.
Relating the story to division during COVID-19
Drawing from the story of Joseph and his siblings in Genesis, the sermon highlighted how God can turn even the most terrible situations around for good. Despite the conflicts and hardships faced by Joseph, God used those very circumstances to bring about redemption and a greater purpose.
Importance of showing grace and praying for one another
The sermon further emphasized the importance of showing grace and praying for one another, particularly in the face of conflict. By modeling Christ’s love and extending forgiveness, we can work towards healing and restoration within the body of Christ.
The story of Joseph and his siblings in Genesis
The story of Joseph and his brothers serves as a powerful illustration of how God can bring reconciliation and unity out of even the most fractured relationships. It is a reminder of the redemptive power of love and forgiveness.
God turning terrible situations around for good
Throughout Scripture, we see numerous examples of God turning terrible situations around for good. The sermon encouraged listeners to trust in God’s sovereignty and to believe that He can work all things together for the good of those who love Him.
Paul’s references to the falling out in Antioch
The sermon also highlighted Paul’s references to the falling out that occurred in Antioch, where divisions and disagreements threatened to undermine the unity of the early Church. These references emphasized the importance of living in peace and unity as followers of Christ.
Importance of living in peace and unity
Paul’s letters to the early churches were filled with exhortations to live in peace and unity. He recognized the corrosive nature of division and the impact it could have on the Gospel message.
Paul’s urging for believers to fight together for the faith
Paul’s writings urged believers to recognize their common purpose and to fight together for the faith. He encouraged them to set aside their differences and to strive towards unity and love.
Philippians to be like-minded and have the same love
In his letter to the Philippians, Paul urged the church to be like-minded, having the same love and being of one accord. This unity of purpose and spirit was key to their effectiveness as a witness for Christ.
Content from Ephesians chapter 4 about unity and humility
The content from Ephesians chapter 4 was referenced, highlighting the importance of unity, humility, and mutual submission within the body of Christ. These virtues are crucial in maintaining the peace and harmony of the Church.
The impact and blessings of unity in the church
The sermon explored the impact and blessings that come from walking in unity within the church. When believers are united in their purpose and love for one another, it creates an environment where God’s presence can be tangibly felt, and His power can be unleashed.
The importance of walking in unity, love, and peace
The sermon concluded with a call to action, urging listeners to walk in unity, love, and peace with one another. By prioritizing these virtues, the Church can become a powerful force for good in a world desperately in need of hope, healing, and reconciliation.
The way forward through conflict: grace, listening, and prayer
The sermon offered a way forward through conflict, emphasizing the importance of extending grace, listening to one another, and seeking God’s guidance through prayer. By approaching conflicts with humility and a desire for reconciliation, we can navigate these challenging situations with love, respect, and the pursuit of unity.
Conclusion: Call to prayer, importance of the Gospel and mission of the church, invitation for those in need to receive Jesus
In conclusion, the sermon closed with a call to prayer for unity within the church and for the resolution of conflicts that may be hindering the spread of the Gospel. The speaker emphasized the significance of the church’s mission and invited those who are in need of salvation to receive Jesus Christ and experience the transformative power of His love.
