Emphasis on God’s Ability

The theme for Vision Sunday is taken from Isaiah 43:16, which highlights God’s ability to do the impossible. In this verse, we are reminded that God is the one who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters. He has the power to bring forth chariot and horse, army and warrior, and to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. During this service, we will be emphasizing and celebrating God’s ability to do the impossible in our lives and in our church.

Backstory of the Church

To understand the journey of Colonial Church STA, we have to go back to 2006 when our speaker and his wife got married in St. Augustine. It was during this time that God began to plant seeds in their hearts about the city and the vision He had for them. The church started as a small Bible study, meeting in their home, and over time, it grew to over 100 people attending worship services. It is a testament to the faithfulness and guiding hand of God that Colonial Church STA exists today, and we are excited to share this backstory with you.

Excitement for the Future

As we gather on Vision Sunday, there is a sense of anticipation and excitement for the bright vision that God has for our church and its members. We believe that the future holds great things for us, and we are eager to see how God will continue to work in and through us. This is a day of looking forward, dreaming big, and trusting in God’s plan for our lives and our community. So let’s open our hearts and minds to the possibilities that lie ahead.

Focus on New Things

At Colonial Church STA, we believe in moving forward and not dwelling on the past. Vision Sunday is a reminder to us all that there is power in looking ahead and embracing new things. We celebrate the growth and progress we have made as a church, but we also understand the importance of continuing to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of our community. Together, we can create a vibrant and relevant church that reaches people with the love of Jesus.

Various Venues and Locations

Over the years, Colonial Church STA has had the privilege of worshiping in various venues and locations. We started off at the Lewis Auditorium, a spacious and beautiful venue at Flagler College, where we held worship services and hosted unforgettable events. We then moved to the Armory on San Marco, a fantastic venue that became our home for a season. These venues provided us with the space and resources to gather as a community and worship God together.

Permanent Home

In recent years, Colonial Church STA was able to purchase a permanent home at 550 State Road 207. This was a significant milestone for our church, as it solidified our presence in the community and gave us a sense of stability and permanence. We are grateful for this opportunity and excited for the future growth and impact we can make from this permanent location.

Future Plans and Growth

Looking towards the future, Colonial Church STA has big plans for growth and expansion. We are planning to build a new church building with 1500 seats to accommodate the increasing number of attendees and to create a space where more people can encounter God. This expansion is not just about numbers but about reaching more individuals and families with the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. We believe that God is bringing new people into our area, and we want to make room for them.

Importance of Community

As we grow and expand, it is essential to us that we maintain our close-knit community and family feel. We recognize the importance of relationships, fellowship, and support in the journey of faith. We desire to be a church where everyone feels like they belong, where they can find connection, and where they can build lasting friendships. Community plays a valuable role in our church, and we are committed to nurturing and growing it as we move forward.

Stories of Faithfulness

Throughout the years, Colonial Church STA has witnessed countless stories of God’s faithfulness and miracles in our community. We have seen lives transformed, families restored, and miracles performed. These stories serve as a reminder of God’s power and love and inspire us to continue trusting in Him. We celebrate these stories and look forward to the new stories that God will write through our church in the future.

Envisioning God’s Plan

As we conclude Vision Sunday, we invite you to envision what God is putting in your heart. Take a moment to reflect on His promises, His dreams for you, and write them down on a card. We believe that God has a unique plan and purpose for each of us, and it is our desire to see His vision fulfilled in our lives and in our church. So let’s dream big, trust in His leading, and step out in faith as we move forward.

Conclusion and Invitation

In conclusion, we want to extend an invitation to you. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to do so today. Jesus offers forgiveness, hope, and eternal life to all who believe in Him. If you would like to accept Jesus into your life, please reach out to us, and we would love to guide you in this decision. As a token of our appreciation for your decision, we would like to offer you a free New Believer’s Bible, which will help you grow in your faith and understanding of God’s Word.
